film-harry potter and the chamber of secrets.
In the last scene of the film Harry potter is talking to dumbledore and high key lighting is used, they are discussing the events in the previous scene. After the entrance of Lucius Malfoy the mood changes and so does the lighting from high key to low key. Malfoy is shown in low key lighting this emphasises how evil he is. at one point when he begins to act suspicious his face is almost all in shadow except his eyes.

murder ball question
How are stereotypes used as a shorthand to represent certain groups of people?
Murder ball is a film about a disabled rugby team, taking part in the para-olympics. Stereotypes are made about the people in the wheelchairs. People think that disabled people are depressed and are un-able to live a normal life, however we learn in this film that although that might be the case in the beginning, but once they become used to being disabled they learn to live with it, and some even claim that they would not change anything. some of the disabled people talk about the benefits of being disabled such as women feeling sorry for them which makes it easier for them to get girl friends. They also argue that if they were not disabled they would not be in the olympics and would not have made this film, and all the advantages that come with the film such as being famous and meeting the members of the jackass cast.

analysis of scream
How are cinematic horror conventions challenged in scream?
In the start of scream Drew Barrymore is murdered this is unexpected because she is a established actress who you would expect to be the lead character; and to survive right through until the end. Another way this movie challenges conventions of a horror movie is because is most films you are generally not introduced to the murderer/monster until nearly the end; however there are exceptions to this such as firday the 13th and a nightmare on elm street. the films what appear to show the killer from the start tend to be more about the killer instead of the characters envolved, so the killer takes the role of the lead character. you are not introduced to the killer until about 8 minutes in, all you hear is his voice on the phone. Throughout the film the killer masks his identity this adds mystery to the film. The movie also has lots of inter textual references such as the stabbing action of the murderer resembles that of the killer in psycho.

media homework
This is a coca cola advert, the advert has a picture of Santa clause drinking a bottle of coke. this advert was obviously created to be released at Christmas time. seeing as though Santa is on the advert you would assume that the target audience is young children.
